POSITION SUMMARY:

Serves as an analyst as it relates to the operational aspects of Weapons Locating Radars such as the AN/TPQ-36, AN/TPQ-37, AN/TPQ-50, and AN/TPQ-53. Analyzes information requirements. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and assists Senior Computer Systems Analyst and Computer Systems Analyst develop appropriate corrective action. Help develop plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion. Defines the problem, and develops system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs and tests. Under the supervision of a Senior Computer Systems Analyst or a Computer Systems Analyst coordinates closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications. Develops, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

. -Develops Capability Analysis Papers (CAPs) for proposed radar requirements for use in the RDD, SRR, PMR, and other Government forums as directed.

. -Develops Integration Test Procedures and strategies.

. -Coordinates with other analysts, managers, and software developers in order to produce quality products.

. -Coordinate directly with government project leads, user representatives, and other contractors.

. -Conduct field exercises using weapon locating radars, including emplacement of the equipment, generator operations, march-order, and preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).

. -Conduct Live Fire Testing at remote locations such as Yuma Proving Grounds, and White Sands Missile Range which sometimes involves temporary duty of 3 weeks or more.

. -Support software engineers with integration tests and field exercises with weapon locating radars.

. -Other duties required to fulfill project analysis tasks as directed.

. -Performs reconnaissance and selection of site for emplacement of radar.

Required Qualifications:

. -Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain) is required

. -Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related scientific or technical discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of directly related work experience required. Four (4) years of directly related experience can be substituted for the education.

. -Must have extensive knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of weapon locating radars Must be able to prepare for operation, and operate weapon locating radars.

. -Must be able to operate and perform operator maintenance on prime movers, and associated equipment.

. -Must be able to establish and maintain radio and wire communications

. -Must be able to maintain weapon locating radars and associated equipment.

. -Must be able to perform radar position analysis using RPAS.

. -Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 100 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 50 pounds.

. -Must be able to obtain licenses to operate military vehicles for field exercises.

. -Must be physically capable of emplacing and march-ordering weapon locating radars.

. -Must be able to travel TDY to support development/testing activities for the customer.

. -Experience in using MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

. -Experience as a Radar Section Leader or Radar Platoon Sergeant

. -Experience as a Radar Instructor

. -Experience as a Radar Repairer

. -Experience as a Radar Field Software Engineer

. -Experience as a Radar Tester

. -Experience using AFATDS

. -Experience using RPAS

. -Experience with C-RAM Operations

. -Experience as a Q-53 Field Service Representative (FSR)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and two to four years of related work experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
