A DataOps platform engineer within an MLOps system specializes in managing, automating, and optimizing the data life cycle for machine learning applications.

They ensure efficient data versioning to track, manage, and secure data changes over time, similar to code versioning in software development. Proficiency with feature stores is crucial, as these enable the storage, retrieval, and management of features (data attributes) used in machine learning models, ensuring consistency and reducing redundancy.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of data engineering and architecture expertise, demonstrating a deep understanding of data pipelines, storage solutions, and data transformation processes. Additionally, knowledge in DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, possibly with Kubernetes (k8s) experience, is essential to automate and streamline the workflow. While a deep understanding of data science algorithms is not mandatory, familiarity with the operational needs and workflows of data scientists is vital to bridge the gap between data operations and machine learning, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficiency
